MavenSteps is a digital services partner for companies that need Magento or Shopify stores, Next.js and React websites, and SEO that starts in the architecture — not in a ranking promise.
What we do
Ecommerce, web development and organic growth are sold separately in most agencies. They share templates, URLs and JavaScript. We keep them in one conversation so the store, the marketing site and the SEO plan are not three incompatible products.
Business sites, ecommerce, WordPress, Magento and ongoing maintenance.
Website DevelopmentAngular, Node.js, React, REST APIs and Vue for product and marketing frontends.
TechnologiesPerformance, social, SEO and consulting programmes tied to measurable business outcomes.
Digital MarketingApproach
These are operating preferences, not slogans. Each one changes how Magento modules, Shopify themes and Next.js routes get written.
A store fails in operations before it fails in design. We start from catalog rules, promotions, order exceptions and who will edit the site on a Tuesday afternoon. That keeps the build aligned with how revenue actually moves.
Most slow sites are not “unoptimized images.” They are app stacks, tag managers and render paths that were never given a budget. We treat third-party code as a cost, because shoppers and crawlers both pay it.
Canonicals, URL patterns, pagination, faceted navigation and internal links are product decisions. If they are left until after launch, marketing inherits a site that cannot be ranked without fighting the CMS.
The expensive part of a website is the second year. We write Magento, Shopify and Next.js work so an internal team — or the next partner — can change a product template without reverse-engineering a theme from 2019.
Most companies do not need a greenfield rebuild. They need a Magento upgrade path, a Shopify theme that is no longer fighting apps, or a marketing site moved off a page builder that cannot meet Core Web Vitals.
List pages, variants, inventory messages, checkout, returns and merchandising tools are not a blog with a cart. We treat those surfaces as the product, because that is where conversion and support cost live.
Platforms, payment providers and search engines keep moving after launch. A store without a maintenance path accumulates patch debt, broken extensions and silent SEO regressions. Support is how the investment stays current.
Ecommerce development
Stores fail when checkout, merchandising and integrations are treated as theme options. We build and improve Magento, Shopify and custom ecommerce so operations, performance and search can coexist.
The pillar page covers platform landscape and when to rebuild. The ecommerce development service describes how an engagement is sequenced. Magento and Shopify each have their own intent pages because the failure modes are different.

If any layer is a theme option, the store fights you later.

Web development
Business websites still need to rank, load and be edited. We use Next.js, React and deliberate frontend architecture for marketing sites, portals and rebuilds of properties that have outgrown their CMS theme.
Digital marketing & SEO
Organic growth depends on crawl paths, metadata, internal links, structured data and Core Web Vitals as much as it depends on copy. We work where development and SEO actually overlap.
Crawl, indexation, canonicals, sitemaps, robots and JavaScript rendering.
Titles, headings and copy that match a distinct search intent per template.
Category, product and facet policy for Magento and Shopify catalogs.
Hubs, depth and internal links so important URLs are not orphans.
Field data on the templates that shoppers and crawlers actually hit.
Unique titles and descriptions from a centralized configuration, not a plugin.
Organization, Service, Breadcrumb, FAQ and Article markup that matches visible content.
Contextual links between services, technologies, industries and writing.
Fewer, better pages with topical relationships instead of a volume blog.
Tag budgets and render path — often the missing marketing input.
We do not guarantee rankings. Search engines, competitors and your catalog all move. We work on the parts of organic visibility that live in the website.
How we work
Six steps, written as operating work rather than a funnel graphic. Discovery still decides whether Magento, Shopify or Next.js is even the right surface.
Delivery
Development process
We start with how the business actually sells: catalog rules, checkout exceptions, content ownership, integrations and the current site’s constraints. The brief is a set of operating facts, not a mood board.
Information architecture, platform choices, rendering strategy and a delivery sequence that can ship. SEO requirements — URLs, canonicals, indexation rules — are written into the plan instead of being treated as a later campaign.
Layouts are designed around product discovery, content hierarchy and conversion paths. We keep the visual system calm enough to last, and specific enough that a category page and a service page are not the same template with different adjectives.
Implementation follows the architecture: Magento modules, Shopify themes or Next.js routes that a future developer can change. Integrations, payments and content models are built against real data, not placeholders that hide edge cases.
Before launch we measure what the stack actually does: template weight, third-party scripts, TTFB, crawl paths and form of structured data. Optimization is a pass on the product, not a separate “speed plugin.”
Go-live includes redirects, analytics, monitoring and a support window for the problems that only appear with real traffic. After that, maintenance is optional but designed in — patches, catalog changes and performance watch.
Industries
We do not specialize in every industry. The cards below describe how ecommerce, web and SEO constraints differ. If your sector is not listed, the relevant question is still catalog, content and integrations.
Catalogs, merchandising and checkout paths that have to survive promotions, returns and peak traffic.
How we approach ecommerce & retailPerishable inventory, delivery windows, substitutions and catalogs that change more often than a typical retail store.
How we approach food & groceryComplex SKUs, specification sheets, dealer networks and B2B pricing that a brochure site cannot carry.
How we approach manufacturingCompany accounts, negotiated pricing, quote workflows and catalogs that serve buyers rather than browsers.
How we approach b2bInformation-dense sites where accuracy, accessibility and trust matter more than visual novelty.
How we approach healthcareFirms that need a credible site for expertise, not a lead-form factory dressed as thought leadership.
How we approach professional servicesEarly products that need a site which can ship, rank and be redesigned without a full rewrite six months later.
How we approach startupsOperators who need a fast, findable website and a realistic SEO plan — not a national brand campaign.
How we approach local businessesCapabilities
Only the stack that appears in Magento, Shopify, Next.js, React and SEO work. If a logo is not here, we are not pretending it is a core service.
App Router sites and headless storefronts where routing, rendering and metadata need to be explicit.
Interactive interfaces, design systems and storefront components that have to remain testable as they grow.
Catalog-heavy commerce: custom modules, checkout, indexers, integrations and upgrade work on Adobe Commerce / Magento Open Source.
Shopify and Shopify Plus storefronts, theme architecture, checkout extensibility and app integrations.
Middleware, storefront APIs and integration services that sit between commerce platforms and the frontend.
Magento module work, custom backend logic and the PHP services that still run a large share of ecommerce.
Typed frontend and integration code so storefront and marketing sites stay refactorable rather than brittle.
ERP, PIM, OMS, CRM and payment APIs connected without turning the storefront into an unowned integration layer.
Checkout payment methods, tokenization and the edge cases that appear with taxes, currencies and failed authorizations.
Shipping, search, reviews, subscriptions, tax and marketing tools — implemented with a performance and data-ownership budget.
Technical SEO instrumentation, structured data, sitemaps and analytics that measure the site you actually shipped.
We can discuss a new ecommerce project, a business website, problems on an existing Magento or Shopify store, SEO requirements, performance issues or a modernization of a site that no longer matches how you sell.
